Why coaching?

Individual coaching
As a former Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel of a major bank, Andrew takes the skills amassed over 25 years in financial services and works with you to make a structured assessment of your current situation and agree a personalised coaching plan. Most engagements follow a proven structure:
1. Initial consultation
An in-depth conversation to understand your situation, your challenges and your objectives. This is also an opportunity to ensure a good fit – the coaching relationship depends on trust and openness.
2. 360-degree feedback
Confidential interviews with colleagues, direct reports and stakeholders to build a comprehensive picture of how you are perceived. This is often the most valuable element of the process – and frequently the most eye-opening.
3. Psychometric assessment
Using respected assessment tools, we explore your personality, working style, strengths and development areas. This provides an objective baseline and helps identify patterns that may be helping or hindering your effectiveness.
4. Feedback and analysis
We bring together the 360 feedback and psychometric results to identify themes and priorities. Where do others’ perceptions align with your self-assessment? Where do they diverge?
5. Objective setting
Based on this analysis, we agree specific, meaningful objectives for the engagement – whether that’s leadership presence, stakeholder management, communication style or career planning.
6. Coaching sessions
Over six to twelve months, we meet regularly to work towards your objectives. Sessions are practical and action-oriented, addressing real challenges in real time.
7. Review and next steps
We review progress and consider what comes next. Many clients continue with periodic check-ins; others feel equipped to continue independently.

Our team coaching programme starts with a structured assessment using the Human Synergistics Group Styles Inventory™. This allows team members to clearly identify what is helping and hindering the team’s efforts, enabling developmental planning for enhanced performance. We also use role-playing scenarios to illustrate the challenges and benefits of effective teamwork.
Usually performed as part of an on or offsite management meeting, our team coaching is ideal for new teams seeking to establish ways of working or established teams looking to take performance to the next level. Sessions can also be delivered virtually.
